At El Gato Tuerto we want to be straightforward about what data we handle, why, and what we do with it. This document explains in plain language how we manage your information when you use our site or place an order.

We only ask for what is strictly necessary to process your order and comply with the law:
- Order data: name, address, zip code, phone number, and email if you provide it. We use this to deliver your order and confirm via WhatsApp or phone call.
- Age verification: when you enter the site you confirm you are 21 or older. We do not store a photo ID or document — only the fact that you confirmed.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time on site. We use this to understand what works, detect errors, and prevent abuse.
We never store card data. Payment is handled at delivery (cash, card on delivery, or transfer). The website does not process or store card numbers at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage for three purposes:
- To remember that you verified your age, so we don't ask again on each visit.
- To keep your shopping cart active while you browse.
- Basic analytics (Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics) to see which pages people visit.
You can block cookies from your browser settings. The site may not work properly if you block the essential ones (cart, age verification).
Who we share your data with
We share data only with the vendors we need to operate:
- MongoDB Atlas: stores orders and the catalog.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Twilio: sends the WhatsApp or SMS order confirmation to our team.
- Google Analytics: aggregated visit data (anonymous).
We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not use it for ad profiling outside the site.
How long we keep your data
Order data is kept in our database indefinitely as long as it is useful for sales records and tax compliance. If you want us to delete your history, email us at our contact address.
Users under 21
This site is exclusively for users 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect or process orders from minors. If we detect data from a minor, we delete it.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time to:
- View the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your order history (subject to retention required by tax law).
For any of these requests, email us or visit the store with a valid ID.

If we make a significant change, we update the effective date above. We recommend checking this page from time to time.
